Ο Dianthus tymphresteus (οικογένεια Caryophyllaceae) περιγράφηκε αρχικά από τη συλλογή φυτού στο όρος Τυμφρηστός (Βελούχι) στην κεντρική Ελλάδα. Η ευρύτερη εξάπλωσή του πέρα από τη locus classicus δεν επιβεβαιώνεται από τις πηγές.

Dianthus tymphresteus (family Caryophyllaceae) was first described from a plant collected on Mount Tymphristos (Velouchi) in central Greece. Its wider distribution beyond that type locality is not confirmed by available sources.
